Stuck in Idaho

This is just an update to bring everyone up to date on our progress – or lack there of.   Some of you have heard bits and pieces of this dilemma, but I’ll put the whole story here to catch everyone up.

It was our intention to stay three nights here in Coeur d’Alene; our second stop on the 2015 trip to Florida.  We decided to stretch the stay to a fourth day and while driving the truck on that fourth day we had a serious breakdown.  It is a blessing that we decided to stay that extra day or we would have been pulling the fifth wheel when the problem occurred – somewhere out in the middle of Montana.

It was a failed bearing that caused the problem in the differential, the drive shaft broke inside the differential and busted out one side of the casing as it came out of the differential.   After a week of waiting the insurance company told the dealer that we should have felt a vibration and they were not going to honor the extended warranty that we had purchased.  Both the dealer and I made multiple calls to the Corporate Office and they finally relented.  So the parts were ordered and the repair should have been underway.  The actual differential case had to come from  the east coast and was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, the 7th.  It didn’t arrive.  On Thursday the dealer started calling to track the part and could not find it.  On Friday I started calling the Corporate Office again and was finally told that the part had in fact been ordered and shipped but no one could figure out where it was.

So with a breakdown on September 27th it took until October 1 to get the warranty repair approved and as of today (October 10) the parts are still not here and there will not be any more news on when they WILL be here until Monday.  We are in a nice RV Park and it look  like Mopar may (!?) pay for the RV park, but I’m still wondering if we should put up a fence and plant flowers.

Ingress News

We have pretty much run through all the uniques in Coeur d’Alene but there are still a few missions left.  Linda is about 70K from level 14 and I’m right behind at about 120K left.  I was hoping to level up on Monday,  but Linda want to level today.  We’ll see how that goes.  We have met several of the local agents here, all super nice and friendly, and we have a medium size op planned for Monday evening.  Seven layers of about 75K each over Coeur d’Alene and West Spokane.  Screen shots to follow.
