Aly Rides Again!

One of the thrills of visiting Florida is spending time with the Grand kids and seeing what they are doing.  Katie, the youngest, is splitting her time between soccer and horse back riding, while Brooke, the middle daughter, concentrates on soccer and her music with an obvious interest in art.

AlyRides7Alyson, the oldest of the three daughters, has started on the very challenging course of becoming a champion equestrian.  She and Misty (her competition “partner”) practice almost every day.  The first week in December we had the thrill of watching her and Misty perform.  The two  have formed a bond that even drew comments from the judges.  The competition was in three sections, a dressage type performance where they follow a strict pattern, changing pace at specific points.  This was followed by a pattern of jumps in an arena style area, and finally a cross country course over much more demanding obstacles.  This is all new to us, but we are learning fast.  She did very well, placing third, and we are so proud of her!  We had a great time watching (and learning).  Here are a few photos from the competition:
