Nashville Revisited

StLouisArch3Although our visit in St. Louis, Missouri was cut short by a day, we still managed to see a lot of the area.  Unfortunately, the one thing we really wanted to see was the big arch but they had it almost inaccessible due to construction.  Still, it is an impressive terrain feature in city center and we did manage to get a selfie.  No, we did not ride to the top as we were not sure Linda would have made it without a lot of emotional distress  Winking smile so decided to pass on the opportunity.   The drive from St. Louis to Nashville was only about 5 hours but it seems like it should have been much longer since we passed through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky to end up in Tennessee.

We are now spending our last night in Nashville, Tennessee.  We came through here last year and did all the tourist activities on the red trolley  tour in addition to walking all over town.  This year we saw many different parts of the city through our Ingress play: Centennial Park, Bicentennial Park and many other parks and neighborhoods throughout the town.  We had forgotten that Vanderbilt University is here.  A very impressive campus!  But the most remarkable part of the visit has to  be the people of Tennessee.  Folks on the street make eye contact and are anxious to help or just chat.  We were even able to sleep with the windows open (a little) with no heater on.  A very pleasant visit overall after several chilly nights in Idaho and Missouri.  We are hoping this trend continues as we travel east and south – listening to the weather each day to determine if it is a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt day.

Our original route took us from here to Atlanta and then on to north Florida before reaching Mike’s house.  But we have delayed our stay here in Nashville an additional day so that we can add a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina.  We will arrive there on Friday, the 6th to watch Granddaughter Katie play in a soccer tournament there over the weekend.    After the game we’ll head south toward Florida with only a couple more stops on the way.

PS:  We were very disappointed that we were not able to arrive in Florida by October 31 to watch our oldest Granddaughter Alyson compete in a horse show.  No way to get there in time due to all the break-downs and schedule delays.  However, we will report the final standings when we get them.

INGRESS

IngressStoreIngress note for all the players out there:  We were able to farm several streets with block after block of L8 portals to stock back up for a few more days of deployment.  Inventory at maximum, MUFG capsule full, ready to move on to the next city.  Cecil is part of the 1% who got the new store in his scanner.  Like most players, we have no intention of spending any money on the game.  At least not directly, but Birthdays and Christmas is coming soon and we’ve been good!!!

We have accumulated just under 900 unique hacks in the last 2 or 3 days.  And lots of unique caps as well.
